MusiCares Person of the Year: Neil Young
Los Angeles
MusiCares Person of the Year. Greg’s original portrait of legendary musician Neil Young was displayed and auctioned by invitation at this anniversary gala. MusiCares is a charity arm of the Grammy Foundation and raises funds for struggling musicians. The annual Person of the Year gala is a part of the Grammy Week celebration, preceding the Grammy Awards and is itself a star studded event that this year featured performances by Norah Jones, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others. This was the second consecutive year that Greg has created a portrait of the honoree. Last year it was Neil Diamond.

Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Foundation Gala
February 2010 – Greg was commissioned by Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Foundation for the last of three consecutive annual paintings to commemorate the theme of their major annual event. As in each of the two prior years, this painting will was unveiled at their annual Black Tie Gala. The theme for this year’s gala was ‘Got Heart’ which included a tribute to Loma Linda’s own Dr. Bailey, marking the 25th anniversary of his first infant heart transplant, known around the World as Baby Fay. Greg’s painting for this event depicted a group of children playing musical instruments in a very colorful and whimsical setting. He titled the painting: ‘The Beat Goes On’.

California Republican Assembly Convention in Buena Park
California Republican Assembly Convention at Knotts Resort Hotel, Buena Park, CA
Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ painting at the California Republican Assembly Convention in Buena Park. He paint for a large group that included members of U.S. Congress, the California Legislature, Gubenatorial candidates Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner, plus other party leaders, candidates and CRA members. The completed portrait of President Ronald Reagan will hang in the Southern California offices of the Republican Party.

110th Annual Inaugural Dinner Banquet, Riverside Area Chambers of Commerce
Riverside Area Chambers of Commerce event at Riverside Convention Center, 3443 Orange St., Riverside, CA 92501
110th Annual Inaugural Dinner Banquet, Riverside Area Chambers of Commerce. Greg was the featured entertainer with his ‘Facing the Music’ performance painting at this annual event for about 500 guests. The event had an island theme and Greg painted a 6 foot portrait of Jimmy Buffett, accompaned by a soundtrack of Buffett’s music. In what was a first for Greg, he simultaneously painted a second (smaller) painting during the same performance. It was an island sunset with a large parrot, in the spirit of the Jimmy Buffett Parrot Heads. Both paintings were immedieately auctioned upon completion of Greg’s 15 minute performance, raising more than $3,000 for the Chamber.

Cal State San Bernardino’s annual Headdress Ball. Greg will perform at this annual gala that is paying tribute to the Beatles with a theme of “Imagine” Can you imagine who Greg will be painting? The finished painting will be auctioned that evening. This event is quite a production with over 100 cast members.

Riverside Rape Crisis Center
Victoria Country Club, Riverside, CA
Riverside Rape Crisis Center. Greg created a special 6ft. by 5 ft. painting that will be auctioned at the Riverside Rape Crisis Center’s annual dinner and fundraiser at Victoria Country Club. The Rape Crisis Center is struggling financially in the current economic storm that has impact grants and charitable giving for so many worthy organizations. Hopefully, this painting will help raise some vital funds for an important cause.

This wonderful evening event will take place at the estate of Joanne Martin. The theme for this event is ‘Masks’ and Greg has something special planned for his performance.

Greg was invited back for an encore of ‘Facing the Music’. This will be the final day of the 2010 San Diego County Fair. Greg performed to sizable, appreciative crowds on June 26 and was invited back for the July 4th finale. He will give 3 performances at 11:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ painting all 3 days at this huge tribute festival honoring the Beatles and other cultural icons from that era. This event attracted large, enthusiastic crowds each day. There were celebrity appearances, top musicians and a variety of other amenities at this great event. John Lennon Remembrance

John Lennon Remembrance. Greg will perform at this event, marking the 30 yr. anniversary of the death of the legendary artist. This event will not be a somber vigil, but rather a celebration of the life, work, and legacy of the man, whose music bridges across all generational, political and cultural boundaries. Greg will perform on the main entrance to the Capitol Records building, near John Lennon’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The celebration will begin at 6 p.m., is open to the public and will have significant media coverage.
Due to the COVID pandemic, all of Gregory Adamson’s live performances and other in-person appearances have been postponed or cancelled until further notice. He does post regularly to Facebook and Instagram and also does live streaming painting demonstrations and classes, primarily on Facebook.
