Digital d'Vine

Greg will teach this first time workshop for folks who want to start creating their own digital masterpieces on their iPad. Greg will use the Sketchbook Pro app to demonstrate the various tools and techniques, then will guide participants through a step by step paint along in which they will create a finished digital painting. As with all of Greg’s workshops, there will be wine, snacks and music for all of the participants enjoy in a relaxed, fun workshop environment. He will share about his uncommon journey and how he reinvented his life, transitioning from the corporate world to becoming a full time artist and performer. His presentation will include video, slides and music.

This event will feature K-Earth’s celebrity radio hosts, as well as live music by top Beatles tribute bands and an outstanding car show of classic Volkswagen Beetles. Greg will perform twice during the afternoon event.

This is a special event by Riverside Art Museum, made possible by a grant by the James Irvine Foundation to support arts engagement in communities. Riverside Art Museum is conducting these events to bring art making experiences out into the neighborhoods of Riverside. Greg is happy to donate his services in order to create a public mural in which folks will be invited to participate in the process. This will be done against a backdrop of great music and a bustling farmers market. The mural will be a takeoff on one of Greg’s vibrant works titled City Roots.

Greg will perform his ‘Facing the Music’ performance painting at the beautiful Starlight Bowl in foothills overlooking Burbank, Calif. This is Greg’s 3rd consecutive year performing at this venue during their Summer concert series. The venue seats approx. 5,000 and the concerts generally sell out. This time he will perform on the same evening with Hollywood U2, an outstanding tribute band that celebrates the music of the legendary Irish band, U2.

Greg will be guest M.C. at this first ever event in which 7 artists will face off in a unique art-making competition. Each artist will receive a mystery box of ‘junk’ and will have 2.5 hours in which to transform those contents into art. Then the creations will be judged by a panel and prizes will be awarded. There will be lots of other activities, including live music, hands on art-making for guests, a hosted bar and hors d’oeuvres.

Greg will be performing at TEDxRiverside, an exciting event that features a diverse group of speakers including Nobel Laureate chemist Richard Schrock, Grammy Award-winning singer Melissa Manchester, Deputy Director Sally Rockey from the National Insitutues of Health and San Bernardino-based animatronics guru Garner Holt.
Events like TEDxRiverside are local, self-organized programs designed to bring the “Technology, Entertainment, Design”-style presentations to a community. TEDxRiverside was conceived and is being organized by members of the Leadership Riverside 2014 class, a 10-month program sponsored by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce that helps to develop the next generation of active leaders for Riverside.

Mistletoe Magic Gala / Festival of Trees

Greg will perform his ‘Facing the Music’ at the elegant, Mistletoe Magic Gala, benefiting Riverside County Regional Medical Center Foundation. This will be the third time Greg performs at this event, which is part of the week-long Festival of Trees. Funds raised help support critical pediatric services at the medical center. -
