Bakersfield Area Chambers of Commerce Annual Installation Dinner Gala

Greg performed for the Bakersfield Area Chambers of Commerce at their Annual Installation Dinner Gala on Jan. 27. The theme for the posh evening event was Jazz. Greg painted to medley of upbeat, uptempo jazz music and rendered a painting of Frank Sinatra in about 13 minutes. Near the end of the performance he even briefly sported a ‘Sinatra’ hat and channeled the Chairman for a few moments before flipping the painting over to reveal the image of Frank. The painting was auctioned and raised thousands $ to benefit the Chamber’s Youth Education Program.

Mural – Greg was commissioned by the City of Riverside to create an original painting of a jazz performance to grace the the exterior of Mario’s Place Restaurant. Greg’s painting was reproduced as a 15 ft. by 12.5 ft. print on canvas that has been displayed on the East side of the building, visible to westbound traffic on Mission Inn Ave. since Jan., 2010. Mario’s is one of Riverside’s very best fine dining restaurants and is directly across the the street from the Historic Mission Inn.

MusiCares Person of the Year honoring Barbara Streisand
Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, CA
MusiCares Person of the Year honoring Barbara Streisand. The Grammy Foundation’s MusiCares charity honored legendary diva, Barbara Streisand as its Person of the Year at the annual gala that took place two days before the Grammy Awards. For the 3rd consecutive year, Greg was asked to present a portrait of the honoree that was displayed and auctioned at this star studded event. Greg’s paintings of the two prior year’s honorees, Neil Young and Neil Diamond, were displayed and auctioned at those respective events.

Mike Sullivan Commissioned Album Cover
Design original art for Music CD package
Greg was commissioned to create original art for the debut album release of singer-songwriter-recording artist, Mike Sullivan. This major music EP was released in April 2011 and features Greg’s original art on the front cover, inside panels, back cover and the CD itself. The CD is available on Amazon or can be downloaded from iTunes.

Facing the Music
Ontario Reign professional hockey
Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ performance art for the Ontario Reign professional hockey team franchise at a special event marking the end of their 2011season, thanking their major sponsors and raising funds for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Greg was also commissioned by the Reign to create two additional paintings that were auctioned and raised several thousand dollars for this very worth cause.

Magic of Believing. Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ for the third consecutive year at this event which raises awareness and funding for JTP’s Art Works program and gallery. This wonderful evening event was hosted once again at the estate of Joanne Martin. The theme for this year’s event was ‘Broadway’.

San Diego County Fair at Del Mar
For the 3rd consecutive year, Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ for the San Diego County Fair on it’s opening weekend of the 2011 run. Greg did 3 performances during the afternoon, which included portraits of Steven Tyler, Lady GaGa and Michael Jackson.

Dos Lagos
Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ performance painting at the amphitheater at The Shops at Dos Lagos, just south of Corona, CA. This evening event also featured the music group, The Three of Us. This is the same group that performed with Greg at EMI Capitol Records on the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s death. Greg will did 3 performances for an enthusiastic audience. 2 of the paintings were subsequently displayed in a gallery at Dos Lagos and were sold to help raise funds for a local nonprofit organization.

Riverside Medical Clinic Foundation Annual Gala. Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ performance art for this annual event that raises funds to benefit the Foundation’s various health related programs throughout the community. Greg created a 6 ft. portrait of Frank Sinatra, painted to music in approx. 13 minutes. The painting was immediately auctioned to raise funds for the Foundation.

Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ performance painting at an evening Benefit Event also featuring legendary rock group, Three Dog Night. This concert event was for the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation. Greg did 2 painting performances and his finished works raised nearly $5,000 for the Foundation.

Greg performed his Facing the Music at a special concert event featuring the renowned Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road. Greg opened the show with an 11 minute performance on stage and his painting was immediately auctioned by the Temecula Theater Foundation to raise funds for a sculpture that will honor the beloved theater creative director and arts advocate, Bruce Beers who passed on Sept. 15. $1,000,000 Golf Tournament
Redhill Country Club, Rancho Cucamonga, CA
$1,000,000 Golf Tournament. Greg performed his ‘Facing the Music’ painting at this major fundraising golf tournament benefiting the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation. He entertain the tournament participants and others during the post-golf festivities by creating a 6 foot portrait of Arnold Palmer. The painting was later auctioned and raised thousands for the Foundation.

Greg was appointed as Interim Executive Director of the Riverside Art Museum
Greg was appointed as Interim Executive Director of the Riverside Art Museum, effective Dec. 1, 2011. Greg will oversee the operations of the Museum, including staff, facilities, exhibitions, education programs, museum store and facility rental business. He agreed to serve in this interim management role on an interim basis only, while a search committee conducts a national employment search for a permanent Executive Director. Thereafter he will resume his position as a member of the Museum's Board of Trustees.

Greg did 2 performances of his ‘Facing the Music’ for approximately 1,700 students at a morning assembly. This event was covered by two newspapers, The Press Enterprise and North County Times, both of which ran stories and photos on Dec. 3. One of the two paintings will be auctioned by the school to raise scholarship funds.
Due to the COVID pandemic, all of Gregory Adamson’s live performances and other in-person appearances have been postponed or cancelled until further notice. He does post regularly to Facebook and Instagram and also does live streaming painting demonstrations and classes, primarily on Facebook.
