    Daily Painting- 90 days to change your creative life!

    Riverside Art Museum, Riverside, CA

    Are you ready to join the Daily Painting Movement? Artist Gregory Adamson is seeking artists of all experience levels who want to change their creative lives with the power of daily painting. The idea is to start and finish at least one small painting each day for 90 days, or as Greg describes it, 90 in 90. He began his own daily painting journey a few years ago and believes it has transformed his life as an artist.

    Don’t start thinking that you will need to carve out a large block of time each day in which to do this, in fact, you may soon be surprised to discover that some of your best daily paintings are those that happen when you have only a few minutes available in which to make them.

    The benefits of daily painting can be numerous, including:

    • more confidence;
    • spontaneity;
    • development of motion/muscle memory;
    • creating work that is more direct, fresh, expressive, and energetic;
    • eliminating the need to labor for days or weeks on single painting that ends up overworked and lifeless;
    • an opportunity to build a series of paintings based upon a single idea or subject;
    • exploring ideas that later can be incorporated into larger works;
    • overcoming procrastination; and most of all,
    • growth.

    If all of that isn’t enough, how about just creating lots of paintings that you can sell or give as gifts?

    This special program will kickoff with a one-day workshop on Saturday, October 22, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., w/a lunch break. Greg will describe the program, share some of his experiences with daily painting, demonstrate techniques and ideas, provide information about materials, and give participants a chance to create their first daily work. Demonstrations and techniques in the workshop will cover a variety of mediums, including acrylics, watercolor, collage, and dry media. However, artists working in all mediums can participate in the program.

    There will be three Saturday meet-ups after the workshop from 10 a.m. – 12 noon, on:

    November 12;
    December 10; and
    a wrap–up group critique and celebration at the Museum on January 21.

    Then, each participating artist will have an opportunity to exhibit selections from their 90-day creative journey in the Olds Gallery at RAM.

    The meet-ups will help participants stay on track, get feedback on their work, and pick up new ideas or suggested assignments to keep those daily paintings coming. There will also be a social media page exclusively for participants in which to share their work, exchange tips and ideas, encourage one another, or just enjoy the shared experience.
